NBA Lockout

NBA owners and players are trying work out a deal to end the lockout so we can get on with play ball again and further cancelling more game in this season that has been shortened.
They were meeting this Saturday with a federal mediator behind closed doors. It will be difficult for the mediator to close the gap between owners and player. What are the sticking points? It is the financial gap that has stop the talks in previous meetings.
They have brought some high profile owners to the table. Michael Jordan owner of the Charlotte Hornets and owner Paul Allen. Michael and Paul should be pushing hard to deliver a deal, the question is will this be better or worse than what has been on the table and was rejected; only time will tell. If we understand Michael and Paul, I believe it will not be a better deal.
The owners do not want to give up a piece of the pie, from what I understand the owners don’t want to any more than a 50-50 split of basketball related income
Last week the talks broke down again when neither side wanted to budge on this issue The Commissioner then decide to cancel all games up to November. It is possible that if this goes to the courts the NBA season will be canceled this year. It would be in the best interest of the players and owner to keep meeting and come up with an agreement.
It has been over 100 days without Basket Ball and thousands of dollars of lost revenue for business and employee’s.
Let's all hope the come closer this week so we can have Basketball this year.
